Naughty Sugar Doughnuts

I originally found these naughty doughnuts on Pinterest and it brought me to the blog "Little Bit Funky". So I decided to make these yesterday and boy are they naughty, hehe.

All you need:
  • Vegetable Oil (I used Olive Oil & it worked fine)
  • Canned Biscuits (anything but the flaky kind)
  • Melted Butter
  • Sugar & Cinnamon

Put the Vegetable Oil / Olive Oil in a frying pan about an 1/2" high. Put on medium heat. I put a wire cover over mine so that boiling oil wouldn't splash out and make a mess.
While that is heating up I took the biscuits and popped them open (I've always loved that, hehe). Then to make the hole in the middle I used a piece of plastic from my Cherry Pitter. But you can use a cookie cutter or anything that is a circle that can cut out a hole.
My Cherry Pitter - Be Creative:)
Set up your work area:
Melt the butter into a bowl (about 4 Tablespoons per 8 biscuits)
Mix Sugar and Cinnamon to your liking

Here is my set up:

Once oil is hot take your tongs and place the raw doughnut in the oil. I suggest starting with one doughnut to make sure you have the right temperature. Mine was too hot and I ended up cooking the outside way faster than the inside and had to cut my doughnuts in half to cook the middle.
When the first side is golden brown flip it over with your tongs.
Once both sides are golden brown put the doughnuts on a plate with some paper towels to help soak up the excess oil.

Now take your tongs and dip the doughnuts in the butter.
Then in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Voila, you have yummy warm sugar doughnuts. They are so good they are naughty:)
Don't forget to do your doughnut holes. I actually liked them the best and ended up breaking up my last two doughnuts and rolled them into doughnut holes. I think next time I'm just going to make the holes. They are easier to cook. I had some issues with my doughnuts being raw in the middle.

Try it. It's super easy!
